Compass is great. It opens up new interests that you would never have thought of and you’ll have fun at the same time!
Daniel, Compass Participant, 2011
The Compass Award is all about young people aged 10-14 choosing their own challenging activities which are interesting, exciting and heaps of fun. Young people help others, make new friends, increase confidence and unleash skills and talents on the way to lifelong learning.

The program is structured over four progressive levels. To achieve The Compass Award at any Level, young people create a unique program of activities (for a set length of time) across four Sections:
Physical Activity (eg. sport or dance)
Hobbies / Skill (eg. art, music, cooking)
Volunteering (eg. at school or in the community)
Exploration (eg. an excursion, bushwalk or bike ride)
The program is entirely voluntary and young people are free to choose activities according to their interests and needs.
To achieve their Compass Award, all young people need to do is work hard, get involved, improve their skills, and have fun. Plus, it’s a fantastic stepping stone into Duke of Ed!
