FLARE Funding

Funding Leadership Access & Real Engagement

FLARE Funding provides financial assistance to young Victorians and Licensed Operators so that every young Victorian may have the opportunity to participate in The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, The Compass Award, The Bridge Award, and The Challenge Award. Through generous donations and fundraising, FLARE endeavours to ensure that any young person who wants to be involved, can be.

Applications for FLARE Funding may be made by Award Coordinators, teachers, principals, youth workers or other adult volunteers on behalf of the Participant/s of whom they will be supporting through the Awards. Applications may be made to assist with individual costs for a group of Participants, or on behalf of the Licensed Operator to assist with annual fees.

Contributions to FLARE are obtained through fundraising by existing Licensed Operators during our annual Dukes Week and by a number of other sources. If you would like to contribute to the FLARE fund by organising a Dukes Week fundraiser we would encourage you to do so.

Although it is not a prerequisite for being granted assistance, FLARE has a particular view to assisting young Victorians from disadvantaged backgrounds. FLARE seeks to recognise the efforts of young people from migrant, refugee or CALD backgrounds, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders, those withphysical or intellectual disability, in rural or isolated areas, young people in juvenile justice settings, those experiencing family dysfunction, drug or alcohol dependence or other social disadvantage.
