When I first started Bronze I had no idea how exciting and fantastic the journey ahead of me would prove to be!

So, you’ve found out about Duke of Ed, Compass, Bridge and Challenge – where to next?
There are a few options available to you.
You can do your Award through your school or community organisation if it’s registered to run your Award (known as a Licensed Operator). You can have a look at the current list of Licensed Operators to make sure.
Alternatively, you can register with Awards Victoria as an Independent Participant. This means that you undertake your activities independently with Awards Victoria’s support and advice throughout your journey. Register as an Independent Participant here or visit Resources to download the form for the Award you are undertaking and send it to us via email or post.
Once you’ve registered with a Licensed Operator or as an Independent Participant, you can choose to complete your Award using a paper Record Book, or the Online Record Book system.
Next, there are just a few simple steps to follow and you’re on your way!
What to do
|1: Sign up!||Register with a Licensed Operator||Through your school / organisation or as an Independent Participant|
|Agree on the Level you'll start at||Parental permission is required in you're under 18|
|Receive your Record Book or Online Record Book details (ORB - Dukes only)||Payment must be made to Awards Victoria before commencing activities|
|Talk about your activities with your Coordinator||You don't have to decide on all the activities in each Section in order to start!|
|Identify who will be your Asessors for each activity|
|Set goals for each activity|
|Let your Coordinator know who your Assessors are and what goals you hope to achieve||Your Coordinator needs to approve your Assessors|
|3: Get started||Pursue your goals! Keep doing your activities regularly for the required time||Keep your Record Book up to date and let your Coordinators and Assessors know about your progress|
|Make sure you do all the training and practice required|
|Keep a record of your achievements||Take photos, shoot video, record sounds, write a blog...and send them to us!|
|4: Reflect on your achievements||When you've finished all the requirements for your activities, have your Assessors do your final assessement for each Section||Submit your Record Book or ORB data to your Coordinator once all Sections are completed by you and your Assessors|
|Await final assessment, sign off and approval from Awards Victoria|
